General Quarry Worker

Location: Jay, ME


Polycor New England is looking for hard-working, positive team players to fill General Quarry Worker positions at our Jay, ME location. Experience in the construction or stone industry is highly desirable, but prior mining experience is not required because we will train you. This is a year-round outdoor job involving the extraction of granite from our quarry.

On a daily basis, you will be required to:

  • Operate drilling equipment.
  • Operate saws to cut large blocks of granite from the open pit quarry.
  • Follow policies and procedures to assure quality work.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Work safely, according to guidelines and training, to prevent possible injuries to self and others.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirement:

  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and some weekends.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb ladders, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move over 60 pounds.
